China National Body Member SIMIT Performed excellently in the Second ISO/IEC JTC1 SGSN Meeting

The second ISO/IEC JTC1Sensor Network Standardization meeting was held in Germany from 14thto 19th Sep. Tao Xing and Jie Shen from the 4th R&D department of SIMIT took part in the meeting as the member of Chinese delegation. ISO/IEC submitted the related technical report to member countries and other standardization organizations to to be discussed in this meeting. The draft proposal was composed by the technique contributions from China, Germany, Korea national body and SC36 members, including the description, standardization scope, application field, characteristics& requirements, and architecture of Sensor Networks, standardization recommendation to ISO/IEC, cooperation suggestion, and other issues.
Contributions from China national body proposed by SIMIT were adopted by the JTC1 Sensor Networks standardization study proposal to be one of the most important part to be submitted to the ISO/IEC JTC1 2008 annual meeting.
With the great support of Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and Standardization Administration of the People’s Republic of China, Chinese delegation was well prepared for this meeting and won the recognization of the foreign delegates by their excellent performance in the meeting. They fulfilled their tasks and played the important role in participating in standardization strategy of Sensor Networks, which help to enhance China’s position in Sensor Network’s standardization internationally. However, there is still a long way to go for international standardization. Great efforts and persistence are a must to stand on the leading position in this field.
