WGSN 3rd plenary session was held in Wuxi Millennium Hotel during Oct. 27-30, 2009. Tan Xueming, the Vice Mayor of Wuxi City, Zhao Bo, the Deputy Director of MIIT’s (Ministry of Industry and Information Technology) Electronics & Information Division, and Tian Jing, the director of Bureau of High-Tech Research and Development Chinese Academy of Sciences all attended this meeting and delivered a speech.

It has attracted more than 50 units with industrial, academic or research competence. And about 100 experts gathered together to attend the meeting. Meanwhile, the Working Group charter, Intellectual Property Statute, and 2009-2010 annual working plan are all passed with consensus. On Oct. 28 and Oct. 29, the meeting is divided into four sub-meetings which have different stress, such as international standardization, system architecture, collaborative processing, security, communication and interface.

On the afternoon of Oct. 28, the 3rd preparatory meeting of a Preparatory Working Group for Sensor Network Alliance was also held. Several leaders from MIIT and Wuxi government attended the meeting on invitation. Liu Haitao presented the current situation of the Sensor Network Alliance. Moreover, "the draft of basic rules of the Preparatory Working Group," "the draft of working plan," as well as the budget are all discussed. At last, by secret ballot, Liu Haitao, was elected as the head candidate of the Preparatory Working Group for the Sensor Network Alliance.
