SIRTRI signs Collaboration Agreement with IMEC

June 4-6, Shanghai Party Secretary HAN Zheng led a delegation to Belgium with the aim of promoting the technology collaboration between Shanghai and Belgium cities. June 6, HAN Zheng visited IMEC and met chief executive Luc Van den hove. He witnessed the signing ceremony between WANG Xi, Director Generla of Shanghai Institute of Microsystem and Information Technology, CAS and Luc Van den hove, CEO of Interuniversity Microelectronics Centre. Both two sides will start collaboration in “More than Moore” field.
The Shanghai Industrial μTechnology Research Institute (SITRI) was established by the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Shanghai government to focus on the development and commercialization of 'More than Moore' technology. SITRI is based on an open engagement model that encompasses an 8” MtM micro-fabrication line augmented by a consortium of industry production and R&D lines, state-of-the-art R&D facilities, engineering services and market intelligence, supply-chain partners, industry trade association participation, as well as dedicated investment funds. Leveraging China’s established Semiconductor industry, fast-growing domestic markets, and increasingly large talent pool, SITRI’s mission is to become a world-class R&D Center that works with global partners to fuel innovations in the next Information Technology revolution, and to make Shanghai the dominant industrial center for the emerging IoT industry.
This agreement between SITRI and IMEC will focus on the creative ability and influence in the fields of More than Moore and optocelectronics and to promote the creation of the next integrated circuits technology.
Vice Minister of International Department, Central Committee of CPC CHEN Fengxiang, Secretary General of Shanghai Municipal Party Committee YIN Hong, Vice Director of Standing Committee of Shanghai Municipal People’s Congress REN Honghao, Vice Mayor ZHOU Bo and Ambassador QU Xing joined the visit.
