SIMIT-KUL Science & Technology Symposium on Extreme Sensing is held in Shanghai

Science and Technology Symposium on Extreme Sensing was held successfully in Shanghai, on March 25, 2024. The Symposium was held between Shanghai Institute of Microsystem and Information Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, (SIMIT, CAS) and KU Leuven, Belgium. The visiting scholars of the symposium are Prof. Johan Hofkens, tenured Professor of Chemistry, KU Leuven, Academician of the European Academy of Sciences and Royal Belgian Academy of Sciences and Arts, Prof. Maarten Roeffaers of KU Leuven, Prof. Elke Debroye of KU Leuven, Dr. Haifeng Yuan of KULeuven.

At the Symposium, Xie Xiaoming, director of SIMIT CAS gave a welcome address and introduced the situation of SIMIT to everyone, and awarded the Honorary Guest Professorship of SIMIT to Professor Johan Hofkens. At the seminar, experts from SIMIT had in-depth exchanges with three visiting professors from KU Leuven. Further communication of cooperation will be discussed.

This Symposium provides a good opportunity for cooperation between the research institutes of China and Belgium, and the cooperation projects between two sides will further strengthen long-term cooperation between China and Belgium in the field of scientific and technological development.
