Reflecting the rapid growth of the MEMS field and the commitment and success of its research community, the IEEE MEMS Conference series has evolved into a premier annual event in the MEMS area. The 32nd IEEE International Conference on Micro Electro Mechanical Systems (IEEE MEMS 2019) is one of the premier annual events reporting research results on every aspect of Microsystems technology. This conference reflects from the rapid proliferation of the commitment and success of the Microsystems research community. IEEE MEMS 2019 was held in Seoul, Korea, from 27-31 January 2019, and the Conference had attracted more than 700 participants, 677 abstract submissions and had created the forum to present 281 selected papers in podium and poster/oral sessions. China, for the first time, ascended the top of the world in number of accepted papers. Our institute was the biggest contributor in China with 16 accepted papers. Twelve of research personnel including two Ph.D students attended IEEE MEMS 2019 in representation of our institute. One of the students, Yujia Zhang, had been nominated as the candidate of Outstanding Student Paper Award. Through discussing innovative ideas with the international counterparts during the lively discussion sessions and tea breaks, they had not only gained insights and expanded horizons, but also expanded the international influence of our institute, established future connections in professional research and started pursuing sustainable international collaboration.
