Dr. Peter Gregory, Editor-in-chief of Advanced Materials, a Well-known Material Science Journal, Visited SIMIT

On the morning of March 4, at the invitation of Xie Xiaoming, Deputy Director of Shanghai Institute of Microsystem and Information Technology (SIMIT), Dr. Peter Gregory, Editor-in-chief of Advanced Materials, along with Dr. Gudrun Walter, Senior Editor of Wiley, visited Shanghai Institute of Microsystem and Information Technology and communicated with the scientific research personnel of SIMIT. Nearly 40 scientific research backbone personnel and doctoral students attended the exchange presided over by Xie Xiaoming.
Dr. Peter Gregory graduated from the University College London with a Ph.D. degree. He once did postdoctoral research at the University of Erlangen-Nurnberg. In 1989, he joined Wiley. And now he is the editor-in-chief of Advanced Materials and publishing director of Global Materials and Physical Sciences of Wiley. He has started "Advanced Functional Materials", "Advanced Engineering Materials", "Advanced Energy Materials", "Macromolecular Bioscience", "Small" and more than 10 kinds of other journals successively.
At the exchange meeting, Dr. Peter Gregory gave a special report on the publication of various journals under Wiley Publishing House, and commended China for the achievements in publishing high-quality papers in the past two years. Dr. Peter Gregory also analyzed the themes and hot topics of the papers recently published in "Advanced Materials", and explained how to select the appropriate journals for submission. Finally, Dr. Peter Gregory shared the experience in "How to select reviewers", "How to attract the attention of reviewers" and "How to communicate with reviewers", etc. After the special report, the researchers of SIMIT had a hot discussion with Dr. Peter Gregory on the problems they encountered in the process of publishing high-quality papers.
