Division of Superconductivity is supporting unit of Center for Excellence in Superconducting Electronics (CENSE), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), as well as a part of State Key Lab of functional materials for informatics. It is associated with the Shanghai Institute of Microsystem and Information Technology (SIMIT) and currently has about 70 staff members, including 17 full professors and 14 associate professors.
The center performs excellent multidisciplinary research on superconducting electronics and applications and seeks to bridge the gap between fundamental research and real-world applications. The research areas include superconducting devices and circuits and system integration as well as applications of superconducting devices, novel quantum materials, electronic structure characterization and first-principles calculations.
The division operates a dedicated superconducting device nanofabrication facility that is equipped with advanced electron-beam lithography and an i-line stepper. A comprehensive research platform for analyzing electronic structure is being constructed that will employ two state-of-the-art synchrotron beamlines. It will be a powerful tool for researching material and device physics.
