SIMIT signs Memorandum of Understanding with University of Wollongong

September 13th, 2012, the delegation from University of Wollongong (UOW), Australia, visited Shanghai Institute of Microsystem and Information Technology (SIMIT), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). The UOW and the SIMIT signed a memorandum of understanding of cooperation and renewed its research partnership for a further five years.

The new agreement was entered into in Shanghai by UOW’s Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research), Professor Judy Raper and Professor YU Yuehui, Deputy Director of SIMIT, CAS. Professor CAO Juncheng, Director of the Key Laboratory of Terahertz Solid-State Technology, CAS, hosted the signing ceremony. Prof. XIE Xiaoming, ZHANG Miao, LI Lingyun attended the meeting.

The UOW and SIMIT partnership has resulted in some powerful research outcomes including breakthrouth in graphene-based terahertz photonics in the last five years. The renewal of the agreement will promote academic visits and exchanges of scholars; joint research projects and programs; academic materials and information exchanges; and participation in international conferences, seminars, workshops, and academic meetings to advance the fields of terahertz science and technology, superconductor science and technology, and other areas of mutual interests.
