On March 31st, 2009, Dr. Akira Manabe, Dr. Akira Kato, Dr. Tmoyasu Kitano and Xun Pan from Toyota Motor Corporation visited SIMIT at the invitation of Dr. Qiurong Chen.
Dr. Ya Zhang gave a presentation on “Influence of Ca, Sr, and RE addition on SCC behavior and susceptibility of Mg-7Al alloys and their mechanism Ⅱ-Task 7” to visitors. After the report, they made a deep discussion about the investigation project. Dr. Akira Manabe and Dr. Akira Kato spoke highly of the achievements of SIMIT and the cooperation between Toyota and SIMIT in the past ten years. Toyota hoped that both sides could keep a closer contact to overcome the adverse effects of the world financial crisis.
After the meeting, Toyota staffs visited the history exhibition room of SIMIT.
