Command and communication system for WSND distinguish oneself

Recently, the joint military fire extinguishing drill and “Wulian” mechanism construction meeting were held by Headquarters of China Forest Fire Prevention, State Forestry Bureau and Forest Headquaters of Chinese people's Armed Police Force in Hulunbeier, Inner Mongolia. “Wulian” mechanism means joint prevention, joint command, joint training, joint operations and joint protection. The wireless broadband ad hoc network command and communication system which was developed by Shanghai Institute of Microsystem and Information Technology, Chinese Academy of Science was used as the main equipment of the Armed Police Forest Force to participate in the fire extinguishing drill and the achievement exhibition of equipment construction, which was highly praised by the director of the State Forestry Bureau Zhang Jianlong, the vice director Li Shuming and the chief of the Armed Police Forest Force. They all thought that this system was the necessary equipment of forest fire prevention, which was not only advanced and practical but a representative of army-civilian integration technology. Shanghai Institute of Microsystem and Technology, which held the fire extinguishing drill from 21st to 22nd September, deployed 54 sets of system equipment and a set of cloud-based emergency command information platform with ad hoc network coverage of 300 square kilometers and point-to-point communication distance of 18 km, the system bandwidth up to 40M. It not only achieved the situation, video, image, voice, positioning, messaging and other information real-time processing capabilities, but also achieved horizontal connectivity with the existing digital shortwave, satellite communications, voice intercom system.
Li Baoqing, the director of wireless sensor network department, Shanghai Institute of Microsystem and Information Technology, Chinese Academy of Science, introduced that the system consisted of helmet-mounted ad hoc equipment, ad hoc communication and relay equipment, backpack cloud nodes and the emergency command platform of forest fire prevention and so on. Specially, this systemcould build the broadband ad hoc network which not only covered a wide area but supported multiple types of service. The command levels could be divided into individuals, groups, teams and military bases and the general trend map which was based on the uniform technical standard could also be generatedwith the system. The system creatively applied the integration of men and cars, fusion processing of fire, people and the environment of battlefield to build the forest fire prevention command and communication system.
Shanghai Institute of Microsystem and Technology, wireless sensor network department deputy director Zhang Xinyi, who is a senior engineer, said that the system can be stably transmitted in 200 km/h high-speed mobile environment, which can be used to solve the multi-channel video transmission in the ground low altitude, high-speed mobile and other complex channel environment. It also enhanced the team's ability to collaborate. In addition, the system can achieve a wide range, high precision, real-time automatic monitoring and early warning. We can just through the mobile phone to observe the national forest real-time fire prevention level and the system can be used in automatic alarm. The main factors causing the fire in the forest are combustibles, moisture content, as well as the factors like weather, humic acid, vegetation density and the vegetation type.The successful development of this system radically solved the persistent difficulties in communication network construction, site command, personnel positioning and video passback, completing the “last mile”access between individual, unit and command post.During the exercise, the system guaranteed the command and dispatch, collaborative deployment, target location as well as live video passback in “force disposal”,“fire accident propulsion”,“fire suppression organization”three stages, achieving the precise presentation of situation informatino such like the staff, equipment, fire, environment and the accurate effcient force deployment and command, providing the reliable information security means for the forest fire command, decision-making and real-time action, achieving a leap-forward upgrade for the chinese information construction in forest fire protection.
Li Baoqing said, the development and application of the system by Shanghai Institute of Microsystem and Information Technology is specific measure for deeply implementing the strategy of connecting national military and civilian and innovation-driven development strategy, strengthening the implementation of the “three oriented” approach by Chinese Academy of Sciences, comprehensively promoting “the first action”. It is the specific use of micro-nano chip design, wide area broadband ad-hoc network communication, muti-source information association fusion and many independent innovation technologies in the field of national defense in civil and military integration. It is also the specific reflection of implementing the integration of military and civilian development strategy, innovating the application of scientific and technological achievements by Shanghai Institute of Microsystem and Information Technology and its industrial platform, Shanghai SciFine Technology Co.Ltd.
In fact, by strengthening the research in the field of wireless broadband network, Shanghai Institute of Microsystem and Information Technology Chinese Academy of Sciences has made a significant breakthrough in some essential technology such as multifunctional composite sensor. They established the solution in the special broadband wireless sensor network system, achieved the large-scale application of the related units in China and made the communication system technologically cross the narrowband to the broadband. In addition, they did a great deal of Internet of things application demonstration project such as anti-invasive sensor network in the World Expo in Shanghai, anti-invasion system in Pudong Airport, water quality monitoring sensor network in Taihu Lake, South-to-North Water Diversion middle route security system and so on. They lead the core technology of the Internet of things and promote it to the national strategic emerging industry.
