RESUME

Shumin Wang received his BSc and MSc from Department of Physics, Fudan University, China, in 1985 and 1988, respectively, and his PhD from Department of Physics, Gothenburg University, Sweden, in 1994. He has been working at Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden since 1994, and was promoted to Associate Professor and Professor in 1999 and 2008, respectively. Since 2013, he has also been appointed as “1000-talent program” Professor at Shanghai Institute of Microsystem and Information Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences in China. He is also a Professor at ShanghaiTech University since 2013. Professor Wang is an expert on epitaxial growth, physics and device of low dimensional semiconductor heterostructures and nanostructures. His current research interests include dilute bismide materials and devices, integration of light emitting materials on Si, III-V nanowires and quantum dots, and epitaxial growth of 2D materials. He has edited one book entitled “Lattice Engineering, Technologies and Applications”, written 7 book chapters, published over 420 refereed international journal and conference papers and held 7 granted Chinese patents. Professor Wang has been as a leader or a principal investigator for over ten Swedish, EU FP7 framework and Chinese national projects. He has been officially invited to nominator candidates for Japan Prize and Nobel Prize in Physics. He was appointed as management committee member for EU COST Action 0805 and 1240, as a foreign reviewer for EPSRC in UK, A’STAR in Singapore and Polish Science Foundation. He served as a committee member in several international conferences including the 14th,18th and 19th International MBE Conference in 2006, 2014 and 2016, respectively, and European MBE workshop since 2011. He was the Chairman for the 7th International Workshop on Bismuth-Containing Compounds in 2016. And he is a Senior Member of the IEEE Society since 2009.
