RESUME
Qian Gong received a B.S. degree in applied physics from Beijing Normal University, Beijing, China, in 1993 and his Ph.D. degree from the Institute of Semiconductors, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, in 1998.From 1999 to 2001, he served at the Paul Drude Institute for Solid State Electronics, Berlin, Germany, where his research involved investigation of molecular-beam epitaxy of low-dimensional semiconductor structures. From 2001 to 2004, he served at COBRA Inter-University Research Institute, Eindhoven University of Technology, Eindhoven, The Netherlands, working on molecular-beam epitaxy of InAs quantum dots on GaAs and InP substrates, respectively. In 2004, he joined Shanghai Institute of Microsystem and Information Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Shanghai, China. His current research interests include molecular-beam epitaxy of low-dimensional semiconductor materials, single mode semiconductor lasers, silicon photonics, and external cavity tunable semiconductor lasers.
