FuTURE Mobile Communication Forum’s 2016 First Working Group Meeting

“FuTURE Forum’s First Working Group and 5G Technology & Testing Workshop”, which was organized by FuTURE Mobile Communication Forum (FuTURE) with assistance from Key Lab of Wireless Sensor Network and Communication, Chinese Academy of Sciences (“Key Lab”), was held in Shanghai on March 23-25, 2016. A R&D team led by Dr. Yang Yang and Dr. Xu Jin, director and deputy director of Key Lab of Wireless Sensor Network and Communication respectively, attended this seminar with their scientific research results. This working group meeting consisted of four themed meetings, namely “5G Technology and Testing Workshop”, “Founding Meeting of FuTURE-TIAA Internet of Vehicles Joint Working Group”, “5G SG Working Group Meeting” and “5G Information Security Working Group Meeting”. Research institutions, equipment manufacturers, test service providers and like FuTURE Forum Secretariat, Key Lab of Wireless Sensor Network and Communication, Chinese Academy of Sciences, China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, Beijing University of Posts and Communications, Southeast University, Xidian University, Huawei, ZTE, Datang Telecom, Nokia, TCL, Qualcomm and Keysight attended those meetings and discussed those four themes. Key Lab of Wireless Sensor Network and Communication, Chinese Academy of Sciences successfully co-organized this conference. At the meeting, research fellow Xu Jing, deputy director of Key Lab, delivered a keynote speech entitled as “Technical Research on Evaluation, Testing and Verification of 5G Mobile Communication Technology”. Among others, “5G Technology and Testing Workshop” was held in Key Lab on March 23. Key Lab’s research team demonstrated the open solution of realizing LTE network including access network and core network on the basis of universal server for leaders, experts and technicians present at the workshop. This solution supported multiple base stations and many types of business terminal. Leaders, experts and scholars present at the seminar showed strong interest in Key Lab’s solution and conducted in-depth exchange on its influence on the industry.
