Wang Guohui obtained a bachelor's degree from the Department of Automation of Jilin Institute of Technology in July 1988, and obtained a master's degree and a doctorate degree from Changchun Insitiute of Optics, Fine Mechanics and Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences in May 1997 and August 2001.

From August 1988 to September 1994, he worked in the equipment dynamic department of Changchun Air Compressor Plant as an electrical engineer. From August 1997 to May 2007, he worked in the space department of Changchun Institute of Optics and Mechanics. He was appointed as associated researcher in September 2003. From September 2011 to May 2013, he worked in the R & D department of Changchun Derui Medical Technology Company as a project manager; In 2013, as an introduced talent, he joined the SIMIT and mainly worked in wireless sensor networks and other related professional research. When he worked in Changchun Insitiute of Optics and Mechanics, he participated in the research of the Shenzhou V and Shenzhou VI space remote sensors as the chief designer and made outstanding contributions. Thus, he won the 2007 China Academy of Sciences Outstanding Science and Technology Achievement Award; As the deputy director designer, he was responsible for the space remote sensor control system works of Tiangong.
