On In June 19, 2015, Project Management Center of Chinese Academy of Sciences organized the examination of "terahertz remote imaging system" project, which is undertaken by Prof. Sun Xiaowei from Shanghai Institute of Microsystem and Information Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. The system operates in the 0.36 THz and can quickly find dangerous goods that may be carried in the dense population within a range of 5 meters. The THz electronic devices, modules and system optimization and many other key technologies has been broken through during the implementation of the project. The research team also successfully developed holographic real-time imaging system, which can detect body target using three-dimensional scanning imaging within 2 seconds. The imaging resolution is less than 1cm. The system can check out the metal, plastic, ceramics, liquids and other items carried by human. At present, Hangzhou radio frequency identification technology research and development center, Chinese Academy of Sciences is committed to improve the system and put it to the market. Research and development team will strengthen cooperation with related companies to accelerate the industrialization process.
