More than 70% of the information obtained by the human brain comes from the eyes. The visual ability of an animal directly depends on the degree of brain development, and vice versa. The human visual system includes a complete set of intelligent control systems such as information acquisition (retina, vestibule), information processing (brain, mound, etc.), motion control (brainstem and cerebellum on eye muscle, iris, lens, etc.). Therefore, the study of visual systems can be the most typical case of human brain intelligence system research. The establishment and perfection of the nervous system model about visual movement control , which is based on the brainstem system, are the principles of human intelligence system foundation and will become a breakthrough in the development of artificial intelligence.

Based on the automatic control science, image information science, and physiology, Laboratory team proposed a bionic binocular vision control theory according to the visual physiology (shown in Figure 1). After nearly 20 years of unremitting efforts, we master the setting method of movement system coordinates (horizontal) of binoculus (shown in Figure 2) and the mathematical model (shown in Figure 3). The process of model verification has been continuously improved and developed. Our team has a complete intellectual property rights in the field of bionic visual control system, we applied for 46 patents and 25 items has been authorized in China, the United States, Japan and other countries. Based on the theory of bionic binocular vision control, we have made a series of research achievements in various fields such as 3D information mining, 3D photography, robot vision, intelligent security, intelligent transportation, Internet of things, intelligent medical treatment, and many achievements have been industrialized and close to industry. In addition, We has developed a series of bionic eyes(shown in Figure 3).

The current research focuses on the bionic binocular vision sensor with intelligent identification, positioning, autonomous navigation and other functions. According to the natural selection result of biological eyeball evolution, coordinated control binocular structure and mathematical model, we research on reconstructing the nervous system control structure and performance, and realize the intelligent dynamic visual function through robot technology and image processing technology.
