Zhao Jianlong

Zhao Jianlong was born in Zhangjiagang City of Jiangsu Province in 1969. Graduated from the Department of Electronic Engineering of Tsinghua University in 1992, he received his Ph.D degree from Shanghai Institute of Metallurgy, CAS, in 1997. He successively held the position of Research Assistant, Associate Researcher, Researcher, Chief of Scientific and Technological Quality Section, and Director Assistant of Shanghai Institute of Microsystem and Information Technology, CAS, and now Vice Director, Researcher, and Ph.D. Supervisor of Shanghai Institute of Microsystem and Information Technology, CAS, Vice Director of the Academic Committee of the Institute of Microsystem, Executive Vice Director of Shanghai Research Center for Wireless Communications, and Vice Director of Shanghai National Biological Chip Research Center.

He is mainly engaged in the research of biological chip and biosensor, and is responsible for many important technological programs including major programs of the CAS, major programs of Science and Technology Commission of Shanghai Municipality, and national 863 program, etc. He was Chief Scientist in “Research and Application of Biological Chip System”, a major program in the CAS’s knowledge innovation project. He succeeded in the research of gene diagnosis chip and urine protein analyzer for several important infectious diseases (such as hepatitis B and C, etc.), commercialization of research results, and acquired more than 60 patents. He published over 120 papers, including over 40 SCI papers He obtained one National Class I New Medicine Certificate, and one Registration Certificate of Medical Devices. He was honored the Excellent Scientific and Technological Rising Star of Shanghai Municipality in 2001, and Excellent Academic Pacesetter of Shanghai Municipality in 2006, as well as the 3rd Prize in Scientific and Technological Progress of Shanghai Municipality (ranking the 1st) in 2005.
